5 Free Ways to Prepare Your Mind + Body for Birth

  1. Drink a daily mug of bone broth

Butchers will usually give you the carcass for free, add whatever vegetables and herbs you have, and let it bubble for 12-24hrs. Bone broth is very nutrient dense and contains glycine which is essential for you and your baby. Here’s a recipe if you find it easier to follow something.

  2. Get outside and go for a walk

Vitamin D helps your baby’s bones develop, and walking is great low impact exercise for all stages of pregnancy. It helps baby get into optimal position and does wonders for your own mental health.

  3. Daily journaling

Letting out any thoughts, fears and feelings you have about birth and parenting can help you understand what some of your mental blocks may be, and how you can start to clear them before birth

  4. Make something for your baby

Using your hands to knit a hat or embroider an ornament can help you start connecting with your baby, listening to your intuition and mentally preparing for your new arrival. Here’s a video showing a cute unicorn decoration.

  5. Listen to podcasts to get yourself clued up about birth and your options

There are so many amazing free resources. My faves are:

    The Midwives Cauldron

    The Ultimate Birth Partner Podcast

    The Birth-Ed Podcast
